Second Life is a virtual 3D world that you can explore using your own avatar. This knowWEEK will show you how you create a free account, dress up your avatar and how you can use Second Life for teaching and learning. This week will be very basic. No prerequisites needed, but you should know how to use your computer and the Internet. You should also be able to install the Second Life client on your computer. In most cases, you need your administrator to do this with admin permissions. So, please make sure you have your admin available on monday, or install the software a few days before the course starts. You will find the Second Life client here: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php
The software is available for windows and macintosh. Make sure your computer complies to the system requirements needed to run the software. If you want to use voice chat, you should have a headset
